This is exclusively information which does not allow any conclusions about your person. This information is technically necessary in order to correctly deliver the contents of web pages requested by you and is necessarily incurred when using the Internet. Anonymous information of this kind is statistically evaluated by us in order to optimize our Internet presence.

2. data collection on our website

The Internet pages partly use so-called cookies. Cookies do not damage your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our offer more user-friendly, effective and safer. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognize your browser on your next visit. You can set your browser to inform you about the setting of cookies and to allow cookies only in individual cases, to exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and to activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If you deactivate cookies, the functionality of this website may be limited. Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions that you have requested are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of his services. Insofar as other cookies (e.g. cookies for analysing your surfing behaviour) are stored, these are treated separately in this data protection declaration.

Comment function

For the comment function on this page, in addition to your comment, information on the time of the comment’s creation, your e-mail address and, if you are not posting anonymously, the user name you have chosen are stored.

Storage of the IP address

Our comment function stores the IP addresses of users who post comments. Since we do not check comments on our site before they are activated, we need this data to be able to take action against the author in case of legal violations such as insults or propaganda.

Storage period of the comments

The comments and the associated data (e.g. IP address) are stored and remain on our website until the commented content has been completely deleted or the comments have to be deleted for legal reasons (e.g. insulting comments). The IP address is automatically deleted after 60 days.

Legal basis

The storage of comments is based on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO). You can revoke any consent you have given at any time. All you need to do is send us an informal message by e-mail. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The creation of own tasks and trails in MathCityMap (central function of the project) requires a prior registration in the system in order to be able to assign the created objects to a user. In this context the following personal data is collected and stored on the server: User name, first name, cash on delivery, e-mail and password. These data can be viewed, edited and deleted on the Account subpage (navigation on the left). The processing of the data is done in the interest of guaranteeing the functionality of the website in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 letter f DSGVO.

Self-created contents

Within the scope of using the MathCityMap portal, registered users can create their own content which is linked to their account. Among other things, the user’s name and email address are used as default values for the Author and Email fields. The reason for this procedure is that we consider the creation of own content as an honourable act and want to honour the respective authors. However, the entries can be changed at will, so no personal information will be disclosed. This makes it difficult for mathtrailers to contact each other. All self-created content can be viewed, edited or deleted in the portal under “My tasks” or “My routes”.

Analysis Tool

The WordPress plugin “Slimstat” is used to collect usage statistics. The data collected is stored locally on the server (hosted by 1&1) and not passed on to third parties. The IP address is stored anonymously, so that it is not possible to draw conclusions about persons. In addition to the IP, data such as resolution, device, browser, session duration, pages visited and country are stored. The storage of statistics is based on your consent, which you give when you first visit the site (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a DSGVO).

3. third-party plug-ins

For an efficient realization of the MathCityMap project, which is free of charge for the user, we make use of program libraries (plugins) of third party providers. The plugins are used in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our online offers as well as a competitive functionality of the web portal. This represents a legitimate interest in the sense of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. In the following you will find all the technologies used.

For the map functionality we use programming interfaces (APIs) from the company Mapbox (based in the USA). By using Mapbox, data is transferred to Mapbox servers. Mapbox provides information about the type of data collected and its use at the following link Relevant here is point 9 “APIs and Mobile SDKs”.

AngularJS and jQuery via

This website, like many pages on the web, uses the Javascript libraries jQuery and AngularJS. In order to increase the loading speed of our website and thus provide you with a better user experience, we use Google’s CDN (content delivery network) to load this library. It is very likely that you have already used jQuery on another page of the Google CDN. In that case, your browser will be able to access the cached copy and you will not need to download it again. If your browser doesn’t have a cached copy, or otherwise downloads the file from Google CDN, your browser will send data from your browser to Google Inc. (“Google”). In this case you also agree that your data will be transferred to the USA.

Google Web Fonts

This site uses so-called web fonts, which are provided by Google, for the uniform display of fonts. When you view a page, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache in order to display text and fonts correctly; to do this, the browser you use must connect to Google’s servers. Through this, Google is informed that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a uniform and attractive presentation of our online offers. This represents a legitimate interest in the sense of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f DSGVO.if your browser does not support Web Fonts, a standard font from your computer will be used. Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at and in the Google data protection declaration:

Bootstrap, Glyphicons, FontAwesome via MAXCDN

For design and a good user experience also on mobile devices, the above mentioned plugins are integrated via a so-called CDN (Content Delivery Network). The advantage is that many sites use these CDNs and most site visitors already have the plug-ins in their browser cache, which makes re-downloading unnecessary. To provide the service, information is transmitted as described in point 1. The privacy policy of Bootstrap and Glyphicons can be viewed at the following link of the operator MAXCDN

4. social media

Twitter plugin

Functions of the Twitter service are integrated on our pages. These functions are offered by Twitter Inc, 1355 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, CA 94103, USA. By using Twitter and the “Re-Tweet” function, the websites you visit are linked to your Twitter account and made known to other users. Data is also transferred to Twitter. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of the sites, have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by Twitter. Further information on this can be found in the Twitter privacy policy at: Privacy settings on Twitter can be changed in the account settings at

5. information, blocking, deletion

In addition to the possibilities to view and, if necessary, to delete your data listed under point 2), you have the right, within the framework of the applicable legal provisions, to receive information free of charge at any time about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to correct, block or delete this data.
